YouTube Announces New Ways to Search and Create Content
Ask the YouTube Interface
YouTube is reimagining the way users search for and discover their favorite content with Ask YouTube, a new conversation-based search experience.
With Ask YouTube, users can ask more complex search queries, such as requesting tips on how to teach a child to ride a bike or finding creator reviews of relaxing games to play before bedtime. Users can also ask follow-up questions to refine their search even further.
Ask YouTube will gather the most relevant videos from across YouTube’s entire catalog, including both long-form videos and Shorts, and present them in an interactive, structured response.
Ask YouTube is currently available to Premium members aged 18 and over in the United States through youtube.com/new, and YouTube plans to expand the feature to all users in the near future.
Expand Your Creativity with Gemini Omni in YouTube Shorts Remix and YouTube Create
Creators can now expand their creativity with Gemini Omni, available in YouTube Shorts Remix and the YouTube Create app.
Gemini Omni is an exciting upgrade that makes it easier to join trends and conversations happening on YouTube. Users can remix an eligible Short by adding their own prompts and visuals to create an entirely new vision. For example, they can transform a scene into a 90s-inspired style or place themselves next to their favorite creator, while keeping the original video content intact.
Remixing with Omni introduces a new way for users to build on each other’s imagination and create fresh content. The model better understands user intent, enabling more consistent and meaningful storytelling, while also handling complex video and audio adjustments in the background. This allows creators to focus more on their ideas instead of worrying about technical skills.
YouTube Shorts remixed through Omni include digital watermarks, identifying metadata, and a link back to the original video. Creators remain in control of their content at all times and have the flexibility to disable visual remixing for their Shorts whenever they choose. YouTube’s industry-first likeness detection tool, designed to help creators identify and manage the use of their likeness, is now also available to all creators aged 18 and over.
Remixing with Omni is available for free starting today in YouTube Shorts Remix and the YouTube Create app, with even more creation options coming soon to AI Playground.
